Hey guys I was just reading a post about all the stuff you guys haul in your trucks and that got me to thinking about the rear leaf springs on my 53. I looked in the Mid Fiftys catalog and it looks like there are 6 leafs to a set. I only have 4 leafs per spring set. Just how many should there be?
Do you think 4 will be ok or should I put a couple more under it? I don't plan on hauling anything in the back. Just want a decent ride. Why would the PO remove 3 springs? Nice truck, I like the way it sets.
Four leaves is about the minimum you should run on the rear assuming you carry nothing heavy in the bed. Those four will give you the softest ride and lower the truck as well. Since you do not plan to haul anything I'd keep the springs just like they are...
