Well I helped a friend of mine move his girlfriend yesterday. I used my 97 5spd 3.55's (mods in sig) and steel horse trailer, he used his 05 6.0 auto 3.73's (cat back 4" straight pipe) and a borrowed alumiumn toy hauler. So off the start I was at a disadvantage with less hp and a much heavier trailer. It was about 150 mi round trip, I got better fuel mileage 15.8 vs his 11. Didn't have any problem keeping up with him, some of the long grades he was pulling away.
Got me thinking more and more about PMS I've gotta get gauges first, been looking at Summit today. But for you guys pulling which settings do you use the most? Best place to order? With fuel at 4.76 I'd like to keep my higher mileage towing... Thanks!
I don't believe the 6.0 is known for its good mileage (EGR and smog devices). It does spool up a lot faster, but over the long haul I trust more cubes for pulling.
Thanks for the input. Where did you guys order your TW from? Not sure which positions to go with, thinking stock, tow, and smoke. Neal, did you have Tony burn the two tow settings? I only see one tow setting advertised. Maybe I'm not looking at the right one..

As I know Neal has the TW burned for two tow settings (60 and 80 HP IIRC), and he also askedTony to burn the chip for 2Stages before he put them and it worked fine with the stock injectors, am I right Neal?.
That is correct guys. I knew I was getting stage II 's in the future so I had him do the burn ahead of time. The only problem I had with it is in the extreme setting I could feel a slight miss on hard acceleration. The injectors were running out of fuel. When I put in the II's that all cleared up.
Yes I have both tow settings but if I would do it again I wouldn't get bot settings, just the one I use most of the time. I would probably add another HP setting.
Don't get the smoke get a HP setting. I think he has a 70 HP setting for stock sticks. It runs really good and makes a little smoke.
Neal have you towed heavy with the Stage 2's yet? How are your EGT's? (slow rise, do they still max out, how much of a pull before you have to back out of it, weight your towing, etc.) As much info as you can give will be helpful and if you haven't towed heavy yet let me know when you do tow.
I haven't towed with the II's yet but I hope I can get the cooler installed before I do. I usually tow between 13,000 and 15,000 when I pull the camper.
I will let you know when I do. Have you done much towing with your II's?
Quite a bit, 14,700# loader/backhoe & 3,200# trailer plus same trailer & 14 round bales (never weighed) plus same trailer & several differnet tractors weighing between 8,000 to 12,000#. I don't have a chip yet (hope to soon) or intercooler (have all of the parts except pipes & boots & time to put it in) and I have to watch the EGT's close on long hills because they will climb fast.

I think that with the chip the EGT´s will be no problem any more? and better with the IC. Also let us know when you get the chip in. ok?
