Hey, I just stopped at a local car audio system place and talked about what kind of system to put in my truck and this is what he told me to get. 2 punch 10" subs + box, punch 160.2 amp, wiring kit, pioneer or kenwood deck and rockford fosgate 6.5" door speakers and labor for $847.00 is this a good price for this system and would it be to much for a regular cab truck

"Too Much" for the truck depends completely on how you listen to your music. I think that set up would sound very good in your turck. If you are confident about doing the installation yourself, I would look for the components online. You will save yourself quite a bit of money. If you still want someone else to do the installation, you could still purchase all the components online and then take them to a shop to install.
that amp sounds a little weak to run 2 10", but that all depends on the specs of the speakers. I think you should definetely look into a "do it yourself" project. Some places just slap it in as quick as possible and oftentimes i'm not impressed with the work at all. Pickups are not that difficult to install components into. Some cars on the other hand...
As far as price goes, always know that you get what you pay for. It never fails esp. with sound components. I'm not too sure about "punch," but all of the others are good quality names that you should be more than happy with. My last word of advice, make sure the unit has excellent anti-skip capabilities. I can't stand players that skip over evry little bump in the road. (Pioneers are a very good brand when it comes to anti-skip. So's Sony)
TAKE IT FROM ME IF YOU GET A SYSTEM INSTALLED AT A SHOP MAKE SURE YOU KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU WANT IT DONE. THERE ARE ALOT OF DIFFERENT WAYS TO INSTALL A SYSTEM. I USED TO INSTALL AT A SHOP IN CALIFORNIA. SHOPS DONT LIKE TO INSTALL COMPONENTS USING THE FULL CAPABILITYS. SUCH AS BRIDGING THE AMPS AND USING THE BEST GA OF WIRE FOR THE JOB. THEY DO THIS BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE WILL WHAT IT LOUDER AND IF THEY DID IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME PEOPLE WOULD NOT COME BACK AND BY MORE STUFF.
