static during volume change
I got an 85 bonrco with stock sound. But when I change the volume i get a lot of static, and when it finally quits the music is at the same volume as before. Could this possibly be a wiring problem or has my radio died?

The radio volume is controled by a pot which is all old and dirty and this is what is causing your problem, any local best buy will sell you a Clarion am/fm/cd stereo for about 150 installed

If you take off the **** and spray some tuner cleaner (Radio Shack) on the shaft and work it back and forth a bit, sometimes that will work. Make sure power to the radio is off when you do this and wait a little bit before powering back on (30 seconds or so). Hope this helps.
