514 coolant leak

Hello everyone i posted this in the 70s forum but did not get to many replys. so i did a compression check. the problem is the engine had antifreeze in cylinders # 2 and 5. as far as the compression check here are the numbers

1.175
2.190
3.180
4.175
5.205
6.180
7.180
8.175

now my question is does this sound like an intake gasket or a head gasket? or something else? thanks

how are you counting your cylinders? from what you are saying you have coolant in opposite sides of the engine, the only way those two cylinders are connected is IF it's a dual plane intake they are the front 2 cylinders on one side of the intake. so the possibility I can see of it being a single issue would be an intake leak into #5 (since it's the closest to the water crossover passage) so what intake is on it?
f it's a dual plane pull the carb and look into the runners or put something down the runners to see if it comes out wet. altough if its leaking enough to fill up and crossever into the other side I woudl think it would hydrostatic lock the engine. But that would be where i would start looking.

thanks for getting back to me. im counting my cylinders as 1234 on the left side and 5678 on the right looking at the front of the motor. and yes it is on opposite sides and yes it is a dual plane. the motor was not ran since last november and yes it was hydrostatic locked. i pulled the plugs and turned it over to get most of the antifreeze out. i didnt pull the carb so i dont know if there would be any in the runners now. i'll check that. so it sounds more like an intake gasket? thanks

yeah if it hydrostatically locked and filled those two cylinders then I would guess that your intake gasket on the Drivers side of the engine (going into the #5 intake runner) has developed a leak between teh water crossover passage and the intake runner.
(I am placing a guess that if you actually measure with a level you will find the engine sits level or slightly down at the nose, or maybe just down in the nose. not the truck neccesarily but the engine itself)
