Horn button removal
OK Guys... I want to do this right. I'm pushing down ,evenly, on the horn button and turning counter-clockwise and, and... nothing happens. The button just spins. This is a 4-spoke wheel, floor shift 1966 F-260 4X4. Any tips? I have to check out the turn signal switch. No brake lights.

Fits: 1961/65 F100/250 4WD / 1966 F250 4WD / 1961/66 F350.
1961/66 F100/250 2WD's & the 1966 F100 4WD use a 3 spoke wheel that's 17" in diameter.

Buttom spins 360
Yes the horn button spins 360 degress.
It does ease up when the top of the buttonis facing the bottom of the wheel.

there is a 3 tang on the bottom of horn button and a 3 slotted retaining ring on the st. unit turn 33 1/2 degrees ether way of top dead center /wiggle and jiggle ! it will come up 3/4 spoke should be the same not to fear can't break it iv'e done it many times no problem /look in a break down of a steering assembly to show how it is attached [ps. get a manual on your truck would help[ if all fails get out a crow bar that will work to!! [ note# tangs could seperate fr. button should turn not spin ? freely]

Thanks Don, I'll try the 33.333 of a turn and it should work. I do have the CD assembly catalog,too.

I got this CD from HiPo Parts Garage www.hipoparts.com. 22.95. A copy of the factory catalog. Lotta info. Some wiring info. Details about the emergency flasher systems.Etc, etc,. Well worth the money.

If the lights just quit working recently try jiggling the connectors on the switch which is in front of the master cylinder...2 wires with 90 degree elbows that slide on to the round brake light switch prongs. Or take the wires off and clean the prongs on switch to be sure of good contact. If thats all done, check the fuse on the left side under the dash inside the cab.
If the fuse is good...again..clean/check for good connections on the ends...sometimes fuses can pop and the fuse looks fine but continuity is broken due to the break being at the end of fuse. If you have a continuity checker, you can check that easily.
If all of this checks out ok...I would get a new switch, or if you have another one kicking around, try swapping it out and seeing what happens.
If all else fails, go get another switch at NAPA...10-15 bucks or so max i would gather.
