Warped rim
I just found out that I have a bad rim on the EX. It wobbles up and down when put on the balancer. It does not wobble at all side to side. The rim is not bent anywhere either. Weird huh?
Anyways I thought I would ask here to see if anybody has any recommendations on where to get a good rim? I just need one it is the stock SD rim.

i have 5 of them rims..4 on the truck..one for a spare..i tripped over the spare at a scrap yard...think i paid 50 bucks for it..
are you sure its the rim and not the tire ?? broken belt maybe???

Hmm ron - now that you say that my dad hit a massive pot hole and thought he blew out the entire suspension on that side. When he took it to his buddy, he found out he had a belt that had buldged through. Change the tire and no more wobble or anything. Im sure a shop would not have told him this! They would have taken about 1K!

Neal, how the heck do you warp a rim like that? I would have guessed broken belt too.
Don't forget to check the local custom tire/wheel places. When they replace factory rims with the fancy chrome ones the either hold on to them for resale, or sell them to someone else who will resell them. If they don't have one, they could probably tell you who to call.

yes it does but its tight..i loosend the spare and pushed the tire and hanger way to the driver side as far as it would go..i have about an inch between the tire and the tail pipe...you should have plenty of room with no tail pipe back there..

I have 4 of those rims, w/ the caps and lugs. Major cost would be in shipping them. I'd gladly give to to you if you pay for shipping, or come and pick them up.
Or any supporting FTE member, if you are in NEED of one or more of these rims I have, they are available. They are the original 2001 Lariat rims, with about 1000 miles on them. They are like new and still mirrored finish.
The word is need. Not want. If someone stole your spare, you need another. If the rim is scratched, you are wanting a replacement. I will only give to the supporters that NEED a replacement. I could always go and sell them for $25, but want to give back to OUR community, Our Supporters of FTE.
Anyway, thay are available, just like when I had my hardly used front and rear springs and associated hardware, that I gave to an FTE member.
