JBL sound system question

I'm having a problem on a factory JBL sounds system in a 1990 Thunderbird. Hope that's okay to discuss here, can't find another forum with as many knowledeable people as here! Anyway, no sound out of the radio except a very faint station noise which doesn't change with any balance/fader adjustment. Separate "component" CD player plays on LH speakers only (fade works). Any suggestions on what the problem is. This baby also has the subwoofer in the trunk. Near as I can tell, nothings been tampered with and everything is totally factory.

Sounds like the Deck is bad. (The CD runs through the deck).
These decks had lots of problems.

Since you own a bird, You really need to go here!
You should be able to learn anything about your bird.

Thanks for the info and the website, I'll be checkin' it out. I'm assuming by the deck you mean the main radio/cassette deck. I'll try and pull this unit out and get it tested, I guess. Only confusing part to me is how the CD could work partly and the radio not at all, but heck, it is electronics after all!
