Sub box for 79 reg cab..
Sub box for 79 reg cab..
The subject says it! I need a box that will fit behind the seat of my 79 ford f-150, I've looked around but havn't had any luck finding one. I don't have the subs yet so it doesn't matter if it's 10" or 12" to me.
If you could help me out that would be great!

Sub box for 79 reg cab..
Do what I did, make one. I have an '84 F-150, a friend of mine gave me a 12" sub and a good amp, I wasnt about to go pay $60 for a box for a sub I got for free. Go to Home Depot, or where ever, pick up some MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard). Make a box, give the sub about 2" of room in the back of the box. WARNING, PRE-DRILL ALL your screw holes though, if you dont, it will crack. Use wood glue where the pieces join, and after the box is made, chaulk all the cracks on the inside, you want the box as airtight as you can. Seal the sub when you put it in too. It should souns pretty good. And if you dont think you can do it, your wrong, I'm 17 and did it in about three hours. And subs really slam in the cab of a truck....

Sub box for 79 reg cab..
one thought. i am a car audio nut, by all means i do not know everything but different subs need different amounts of space. this space is measured in cubic feet i think. check with the manufacturer of your sub they will tell you. if the box is the wrong size your sub will sound poor and not create the correct bass. did it once in my old chevy pickup. my ford has a correct box and sounds top notch. good luck and happy building.
