Spark plug gap

What is the proper spark plug gap on 2005 F-150 4.6L? I've been told .052 to .056. Is it best to split the difference, or.....?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You gap it to the smaller number since the gap will increase over the lifespan of the plug.
