I am building my 78 Bronco, I am thinking of taking the axles from under my 76 F250 4x4 and put under it? I will get 8 lug and better braking but have heard that those axles are not much stronger then whats under it now. plus its low pinion
finding D60's of that era around here that are in good shape and affordable is hard to do, but I have heard that newer F250/350 are solid axles? is this correct?
I would also like to go with the sterling 10.25 rear, both with 4.10 or steeper gears
my question is what make and year trucks and vans would be my best bet to look for to source these parts from?
I am going to contact local yards but I am looking for a whole vehicle if possible?
also I am trying to keep the cost very low to free ????
any thoughts? Thanks...Rick
Well I would think 10.25 would be in rigs from when EFI started for Ford trucks. I dont know if they came out before that time but there is that possibility out there.
