HEI cap swap procomp.
i have a procomp hei that i dont have problems with except the cap is red. i have access to a gm crate engines HEI that has the black one i want.
do you know if this is a direct swap or not?
i know nothing about HEI except how they differ from a fords ignition system.

so is there anything below the cap that can be used? i just swapped the cap and it ran the same as before, but id like to use any of the(this is the only time ill ever say this) GM Performance parts that i can. i dont really think much can be swapped because they rotate the opposite directions.
the reason i ask is because my exhaust pops and im trying to rule out the ignition, even though im pretty sure its a valve and ive got new heads going on anyway. i dont know much about this, but i hear the the coil pick-up can make it happen, but it only does it at idle.
