93 f150 trans ?

ive got a auto trans in a 93 f150 flareside 4x4 with a 351w would it be the the light weight auto or the heavy duty auto? i was told that the light duty one was always behind 300's and 302's with the better one behind every thing bigger. if it could be either how do i tell the 2 apart?

IIRC there should be a tag on the door with a string of codes on it which tells the engine, trans, axle, color, trim, etc.

Post and better minds will decode.

ok thats what i was hoping an e40d just couldnt remember what it was called! now i have it out and on the shop floor it can go in my 92 tomorrow. thanks
