Exclamation Help my Ranger!!!

I have a 99 Ranger 4.0 2WD. I blew a head, so I replaced the head and all the gaskets. water pump, plugs and wires, and new belt. I adjusted the valves and replaced all the fluids and filters. When I start the truck it will only run when I floor the truck. If I let off the gas the truck will sputter make a "pop" noise like a back fire but not and die. I have back tracked all my steps and this has gone on for 3 weeks. This is my only truck so I have been catching rides everywhere. Does anyone have any ideas or has had the samething happen? I'm really lost and don't know what to do. Any help would be great!

Welcome to the site!

Sounds like it's out of time. To get from the best though, try here: 2.6, 2.8, 2.9, 4.0 and SOHC 4.0 V6 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums or here: Ranger & B-Series - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums Either one would be helpful.
