Hello,
'96 F150, 5.0, 5 speed, 2wd.
Between shifts it holds the current rpm for a few seconds then comes down real slow if I hold the clutch long enough and wait. Could the TPS cause this condition or should I be looking elsewere? This has been an ongoing issue. Not a BIG problem but an annoyance that may be affecting mpg's. Truck runs fine though a little low on power under 2000 rpm's.
There are no codes present. I just replaced the PCM to solve for code 0443 a mounth ago. I was hoping that would have magically fix all thing but not so. Thanks
The throttle cable could be coming apart, check the return spring for throttle, make sure the throttle is comming back to the idle stop. The linkage for the pedal could be sticky too.
