I have been reading alot on here about people being discusted with the poor milage out of their 6.4L. I have a temp solution for every one I have tried many additives in the fuel and have found 2 goods additives. I went from 15 on the highway to 18 just by adding 2 cheap quarts of engine oil on ever fill up and 2 quarts of tranny fluid every oil change with engine oil and finding great imporve ments in fuel. Figured id let everyone know and see if any one was interested in better MPG
One should be concerned if engine oil or tranny fluid is added to the 6.4L Diesel engine. These products when burned will in time cause problems with the DPF Filter due to soot and combustible by-products building up. Ford will only allow Bio Diesel up to 5 % again due to combustion BIO by-products having to be cleared in the DPF. The ash remaining from each regeneration slowly builds up so in time the DPF will have to be replaced. The DPF is worth $2000 to replace so I don't want to rush that moment when I would have to replace it.
ULSD and CJ-4 oil is used in the engine to reduce sulfur and ash to keep the EGR and DPF happy. No used oil or tranny fluid for me.
It is good that what you are doing works for you..I would never do that to my 6.4L motor. You might wnat to google around and see what the experts say about doing that..
good way to blow the ceramic injectors They run on very tight tolerance and very high pressure any viscosity change can blow them.
Did you not play the CD that came with the truck on operating it.
after playing that and studying a bit only one additive is ok for you 6.4 it is made by redline, I used to use howes for my 6.0 but threw away the bottle for the 6.4
6.0 had some injector sensitivity but not as bad as the 6.4
I dont put used oils in i put fresh and i went to the ford dealer and they said as long as uts cj4 or mercronIII tranny it wont hurt the truck at all and besides the DPF is warranty
how does the edge plat w juice work?? ive been waiting on the banks six gun w pda but like how clean the edge looks w the dash mount.... also whats ur mpg... i just put a 10'' lift on mine w 38's... im pulling 11mpg w no programmer driving easy

I been using DieselKleen which states it good for all diesel fuels including ULSD, and will not void and manufactures warranty.

I am getting 15mpg in town driving not easy but normal with 35's. Its an improvement over the 12mpg I was getting before the Edge.
Looked at my 6.4 cd rom that came with truck just to refresh my memory and it didn't say anything about having to use additives, only to boost octane if below 45 for better performence, but it did say not to no way add any oil, alcohol, gasoline to the fuel .
