Like a month ago i write a thread in super duty trucks about my problems wondering if some one can help me, seams to be my thread turns to be a problem with some many people, and i hope this thead be my solution.
I was ridding me F250 2006 6.0L and suddenly turned off and in the dash only appear the signal of engine and the batterie signal.
I have to tow the truck to a mechanic becouse when i tried to turn on the engine the starter work but the engine seams that no diesel was comming to the engine.
In the dealer they put the sacnner and said that the fuel pump was not working very goog i ordered a knew one from FORD DISCOUNT AND PARTS and arrive las week when they put the knew one the truck still equal.
Ive already cheked the fuses and relays the cut of switch and everything seams to be ok.
And yes i have a lot of mistakes whit the grammar and spealling in english but i dont practice every day this language.
Please i realy need help it seams to be a mechanical problem but where is it??
Or could be the problem in other place....
It could be the stc fitting to the hpop (high pressure oil pump) - the fuel injectors require high pressure oil to operate, and if there is a leak in this system the injectors will not open. It could be something else, also.
You need to find a mechanic who knows the 6.0 engine to get this problem diagnosed properly.
Thanks for the note i will say this to the mechanic tomorrow who is cheking the engine. Well is a dealer specific for diesel engines but never have a problem like this!!!!
Any other clue!!!! anyone is helpfull
I think steve gave you the best place to start. The fitting he referred to is a known problem on the 2005-6 powerstroke. To test if that is the problem the high pressure oil system needs to have shop air pressure applied and the IPR commanded closed. There is a port on the passenger side valve cover to apply the air the IDS hand held computer can shut the IPR.If you do not have access to the computer you can rig up a 9 or 12 volt battery to shut the IPR,don't leave the power on to the ipr too long it can damage it.(1 min on 12 volt)If the fitting is broke the shop air will not stop gushing through the motor.
We already check the engine and theres no problem at all know we think its something electrical because i think some diesel stay in the engine and when we tried to start the engine run but suddenly it goes off!!!!!!!!!!!!
