gear ratios

gear ratios

hey i looked at my rearend to see if i could figure out my gear ratios.... it said 373 ..2L22 i think?! it was pretty beat up, does that sound ri ght? 3.73s?

Yes they came with 3.55, 3.73 and there was a higher 3.08 or some such thing.

Check your door tag, It'll probably say B6, which is a 3.73 LS diff.....I think 2003 was the first year they offered the 3.73 in the supercrew.

it says axle:H9 ? i think im looking at the right spot?

3.55's are most common. 3.73 was special order I believe.

are you the only owner?

the axle may have been changed out...

jack up the rear end, mark the axle and the tire... 1 full revolution of the tire= either 3-1/2 or 3-3/4ths turns of the driveshaft

OH YEAH well I think he should just get rockwells, then he'd have 6.72 gear ratio, haha honestly though depending on your tire size, if it's a stock or close to stock size 3.73s are good, but if you do alot of towing like you mentioned 4.10s are a good ratio, now if you have upgraded tire sizes then you should consider 4.56s or 4.88s. Not sure if you mentioned what size tire you were running jsut saying.

what RPM's are you people doing at 70 MPH? What gears do you have? and tire size?

I am @2000rpm at 70 mph with 265/70 r17

im at about 2000 rpm @ 75mph with 3.55LS and 285/70/r17. if im wrong ill come back and change that.

Mine ran about 82mph@2000rpm with 3.55's and 275/60R17 tires.
