air ride?

air ride?
Hi my wife has a 98 EB exp. with the air ride yesterday while on a road trip the check susp. light came on and when I stopped and got out the back was way up in the air and the front was way low
I unhooked the battery and hooked it back up just to see what would happen and it seemed to be ok for a while then the light came on again but this time the truck stayed level I left it alone for the rest of the way home and when I shut it off the back stayed up and the front dropped down so again I unhooked the battery hooked it back up started it and all seems fine?
my wife has it at work today and said the light never came on so I don,t know what is going on?
Does anyone know what could be wrong or a way of diagnosing it?
