Driving my 79' last night when my daughter says there yellow fluid coming from under the dash. I assume its the heater core, can I get one of these a the locol parts store or is it going to be more difficult than that.
I got mine from Advance Auto. They had it in stock. Its easy to change out. Atleast it was on my 74. There was 2 nuts on the firewall to remove the whole assembly. Remove your hoses and disconnect your linkages under the dash. The assembly should slide right out.
Pick up some cleaner while you are at it. Pulling the heater box and opening it up for access to the heater core = good chance to clean the crap/crud/dust/leaves/gremlins out. Plus last time we made about a 5 spot in loose change that over the years falls through the duct work.

It's easy if you're truck doesn't have air. If it has factory air, it's a real PAIN.
yep o'riellys had one in stock, 30 bucks. I had issues with the cab insulation allowing me to reinstall tha heater box, so i ripped it out, it would just soak up the murky pond water anyway
