From everything I've seen you are safe under 1200*F. There are some out there who will relate stories of going much higher for short times(like drag strip runs) but for most folks the 1200 mark is safe.
from what i have learned from this site, these trucks can run @ 1250 deg all day long w/o a problem. anything higher should only be for quick burst like >5 seconds.
i have an edge evolution with egt probe mounted pre turbo and with it set at 100hp i can hit 1500 but stock i can barely hit 1000. the alarm on it is set at 1250 by edge so that is usually when i back out of it. if anyone else could chime in on this i would be interested to know some more.
I've seen as high as 1600 on my truck but that was with a very hot tune down a dragstrip. Now with my new tune in the truck which put the numbers down in my sig and the addition of a banks intercooler I can hardly get it over 1450 and normal driving is usually around 800-900. Even towing hills with this tune is still in the 1200 range.
