Code reading question

I have an 03 f-350 with the dreaded tow/haul light flashing. I know with my dodge pick up truck I had I could get the codes to pop up on the odometer (Ie it would read like P666). Is there anything like this for our trucks? I honestly don't want to take it to a stealership.

Thanks guys

The odometer will give you codes, but it will have nothing to do with the powertrain it's just for the cluster. If you google HEC cluster there is a page about mustangs that will walk you through all of the features. You need an OBD2 Compliant code reader, and if you have a diesel motor, you will need a diesel capable reader. There are several on the market with varying ideal uses, I prefer ones that hook up to a laptop and offer datalogging.

Thanks, but I was hoping it would be like my dodge where I would not have to buy a computer.
