Years ago I was in possesion of a PCV valve that could be taken apart and change the spring and plunger for better tuneability. Has anyone seen or have this item?
That's interesting - worked in a performance auto parts store 'bout 20 years ago and I don't recall ever seeing one of those. (Anybody out there remember the old Super Shops stores?lol)
Let us know what you dig up on this - I'm having a mad cow moment and can't think of how that might be useful.
I suppose if one could limit the amount of crankcase gases going thru the intake system, you could replace it with more useful volume like air/fuel - am I on the right track?
Yes, as well as the moment that the PCV will close according to vacuum signal. This is especially helpful to those that are running HIPO street engines or as engines ware the amount of crancase gases increases and this can compensate.
Super Shops not always had the brightest personel but could get just about anything at a decent price if not better. I actually miss them. Its way worse to walk into schucks or pepboys and talk to a person who doesn't know what a lug nut is.
Okay, sounds logical. Yes, SS definately had its share of young morons - at the age of 25, I was the oldest person in the store, even older than my manager, lol! But it was my 1st job in colorado so I stuck it out for a year, primarily for the discount perks, but also for the "comedy central" of listening to the young know-it-alls try to influence the old racers into buying crap they didn't need! Oh, those times were fun... by the way, love your truck!
