97 ranger timing
There will be a diamond and a triangle on the gear teeth. Use the triangle for timing. On the rear timing cover there will be three white marks about 5:00. The triangle will point to the center mark for proper timing.
Auxilary shaft:
The auxilary shaft will also have the diamond/triangle. Use the diamond to align this gear. It will align with another diamond on the rear cover. It will be straight up.
Crankshaft:
The crankshaft will be at top dead center when the keyway is straight up. There is also a dot on one of the teeth of the crank gear. This dot will point to the leading edge of a notch in the crank seal cover about the 1:00 position. jd
