I recently rebuild and installed an autolite 4100. The problem I have is that I cant get the seondarys to open up. They move by hand but wont operate when the gass is punched. I have good vacume to the dizzy and breaks. Can anyone give me some help I really need to get this running.
Yup I know that, I cant get them to open up on the road when I punch it. IM thinking something has to be plugged on the inside of the carb if its nothing else.
If they are like a Holley, there is a small hole in the side of one of the primary venturies that creates the vacuum that pulls in the diaphram.
Perhaps your spring is too still to allow it to open, or it is opening slowly and you can't feel it.
Sorry for the long reply, I ended up taking the carb off because my secondary throttle shaft was slicking in the carb body. I got it lubed it up and moving I can tell they are working now.
I also replaced the gasket under the airhorn/filter stud. I was told the vacume that runs through this controls the secondarys.
