2000 Ranger ECM not responding
He called me and asked for advise on repairing his truck.
Seems he had it throw a code last year and had it scanned. The scan said it was an O2 sensor. He did not repair it and the check engine light eventually burnt out. Now the truck has developed a rough idle, low power, and general drivabilty problems.
I hooked my scanner to the port and the ECM will not communicate. I unplugged it and scanned another Ford car sitting in the shop and it cycled through just fine. I then turned on the lights and unhooked the battery for two hours. I tried to scan again, and again it wouldn't read.
Suggestions?
Post ALL the code numbers you pull & the sequence in which they came, ie KOEO & KOER.
