what the heck is the problem??

well my fan switch has only been working on high for awhile so I decided to tear into it and find out what the problem was, no big deal right? well I pulled the switch and used a jumper wire in the connector to see if the fan was working properly, and it is, I jumped all 3 positions and the fan worked in lo, med, and high, so I figured it was the switch, checked it out and found that the lo position had no continuity, so I went and bought a new switch tonight assuming that would resolve the issue, wrong, I still only have high, i cleaned the contacts inside the connector tried to make sure the connections are tight but still no go, what am I missing? could I have a bad brand new switch?? I didn't have the time or energy to test the switch tonight but I guess I will tomorrow morning, I just wanted to know if there is anything I could possibly be overlooking. thanks

Fan running only on high is a classic case of a bad blower motor "resistor". They use to be located in the box where the fan is. Not sure on these trucks though.
