Hey guys,
Last week I was driving my 7.3 and it kinda jerked around with the speed control set at 60. Then it did it again 5 miles down the road. Then the next night while idling it just shut off and then again at a stop light. It started right back up but this just worries me. Could it be just a cam sensor or fuel filter?
i know i have a completely different engine than you, and i dont really know much about diesel engines, but i had this same issue before and it was my idle air control valve..maybe you could look into this and see if the diesel engine has one, im sure it would. it just controls the idle, if it gets gunked up the truck wont hold an idle, mine started like yours then got to the point where i couldnt take my foot off the gas pedal, like my truck had no idle control..
the dying at idle is classic cam sensor also as your coming up to a stop as the engine idles down it just dies. If you havent had it done have the dealer do the recall check its common on all 7.3's
