Good advice.

So when using the silicone lubricant on the weatherstriping, and rubber parts, take care not to get it on the paint if it's clearcoat.

Also another trick".

Jeweler's Rouge with a light buffing wheel will clean up oxidized plastic lenses like tailights, and marker lamps assymblies and front turn signals.

Jeweler's rouge will also remove water spots and very light blemishes on windows too.

WD-40: rather than starting fluid will kick off a diesel engine and is much less hazardous to you and the engine.
Plumbing our oilpan drains to accept a 1/2" hose can really help in many ways in aiding us for those mods that make oil changes a little tricky or cumbersome. Cut the hose to you desired length and plug with whatever you've got lying around that will be easy to remove.

when putting a oil pump in pack it full of vasoline (petrolium Jelly), this will keep it lubed until it gets started and oil is pumping through.

Aluminum polish also works to remove haze from headlights and tailights. Follow up with plastic polish for good as new.

JBrad and Lone Wolf, do you wipe it on the light and the haze will come off?

Use it just like a polish, keep rubbing until the haze goes away (doesn't take to long.) The aluminum polish works as a first cut to get the worst of the haze and the plastic polish finishes it off. Keep in mind, this is only for haze, deep scratches and rock chips will require sanding or replacement.
