Cat delete

I have a F350 6.0 PS and I want to know the advantage of no cat on the exhaust and if it will cause any problems.

You wont have any problems (ex. codes or anything) and it will sound amazing. No real performance gain in my opinion. MPG's went up a tad but were very very slim

welcome to FTE!

to go along with UGA33 you won't get any performance gains but your turbo whistle will will go up and sound great. don't expect it to be to to loud if you have an 05 or higher. for some reason the 03's and 04's the turbo's whistle louder. it's really easy to do and if you don't like it you can put the kitty back in and you aren't out too much.

It will help keep your EGT's lower when you are towing!

And it will not hurt anything by removing it.

thanks. i haven't seen a post explaining why that was. so i guess that means more veins for the possibility of sticking for me huh? haha

Ford decided the whistle of the '03 10 vane was obnoxious, so that's why they changed it. Some early '04 models got the 10 vane too, but that meant they had an '03 model year engine. The feds might frown on the cat being out if the wrong person found out, and if you have a warranty, the dealer might throw a fit. then again, they might not. I've seen a few reports where there's like a 3-7 hp gain, but you'd never feel that kind of difference. It's like the other guys said, cooler temps, way cooler sound, and maybe a touch better mpg. If you go with a bigger exhaust I'd recommend not going bigger than 3 1/2" downpipe & 4"-5" after. you need just a little back pressure after the turbo to let the VGT operate to it's fullest potential.

It's more along the lines of 20 hp and the biggest thing you'll notice is a slight increase in lag if you just romp on the peddle from a dead stop instead of rolling into it. The scream at low speads with an 03 turbo is a wonderful sound, but alas I needed to get rid of the vgt design.

It sounds better, runs cooler, and makes chicks think you have a lil' Johnson when you romp on it.

fs I agree with all these guys and their feedback, i don't wanna burst your bubble and this may not happen to you however, I just put a turbo back silverline kit on my 06 6 liter and shortly after i get all kinds off whitish blue smoke when i accelerate from any kind of stop. I'm sure it's coincidental but it's been to the dealership and ford themselves said putting an aftermarket exhaust on may create smoke due to incomplete combustion. Which is a load of crap in my book so now i'm stuck with a horribly smoky truck and no one to turn to for help all because i changed my exhaust. Good luck whatever you do just giving you feedback.

How long has it been doing this? I have heard around here that it could just be the machine oil getting burned off of the new exhaust. I know when i got my MBRP i picked up a few pieces out of the box and my hands were covered in it. Maybe this is what is causing your problems

no they sell the delete pipe. MBRP has one for stock or aftermarket exhaust. it is a do it yourself job. the cat just unbolts and then you bolt the delete pipe in. here is a link to where you can find one if you are interested.
