Well early Sunday morning I came to the realization that I need new IC boots and CAC boots at 3 in the morning. I got off the exit at in Newport ( to those local or went to Smokin the exit near the Walmart and Dragstrip) I got onto the truck in 80E from a dead stop and heard a loud pop and alot of whistling and lost boost I knew what it was and pulled over. The drivers side top boot had popped I had just cleaned them a few weeks ago and noticed they were soft, but this one was even worse and after the pop off it had some tears in the end. Thankfully Scott (crum71) was still up after just finishing working on my truck and brought me clamps and a another IC boot from when he did his 6.0 IC so everyone please send some reps to Scott for the late night 911.
That has got me set on a new set of boots, whats a good set for a great price, I don't want to break the bank but I gotta get these things replaced. I thought I might have a leak but my EGTs show about 650 cruising at 60 MPH on flat ground, my boost seems to hold about 3-5 pounds at those speed.
Yea, but what's the odds of someone having a spare boot laying around at 3 in the morning? I hope you remembered to pick up a lotto ticket on your way home before your luck changed.
I,m gonna find him too, that was cool, its brotherhood in motion. Justin, how many miles do you got on your ride? Wondering if i should change mine also, their stock wiith 97,000 miles on them.

So with the diesel site set up I will need to spend 228 bucks for replacements boots. Scott is a great guy, he helped me out, he gave his old IC to an OBS man at Smokin, gave me pipe for my 4in exhaust.

I gotta agree with ya JD. Friend like him are few and far in between.
I just received my complete CAC & engine boot replacement kits from Bob Riley at DIESELSITE. I'm getting ready to do some major upgrades to my stock motor and they're going on a new Spearco CAC. Great quality, put them on and forget about it! Well worth the extra $$'s. V/r Les
The Ones From Dpp Are Great Alternative. They Are Thicker Than The Stock Ones And Perform Great. Customer Service Was Great Also. I Know The Dieselsite Ones Are Prob "the Best"........but Come On 2x's As Much. In Ten Years When These Wear Out I Can Buy Another Set And Still Be Ahead. (just My .02 )
