Friday the 13th

Well this Friday looks gloomy here in Clermont County as Ford our county's biggest money producer and biggest plant will end production...The plant is the Plant that produces the ZF Transmission. We still have another plant over in the next county.

The original date was June 1st to close but then they moved it back, at first they said an additional month but only was 13 days.

Here is the news link

The Ford Motor company announced Monday that it will end all production at the Batavia Transmission plant on Friday, June 13.

The idling of production at the Batavia plant came over a year after the company first announced plans for the location's closure. However, Ford did not give an exact date when production would end until Monday.

Nearly 800 workers will loose their jobs as a result of the closure Friday.

Ford offered buyouts and other opportunities to workers when it announced the plant closure last year.

9News will take a tour of the plant on Wednesday and talk to employees about the closure.

Ford's Batavia plant opened in 1980. The company also operates a plant in Sharonville.

i also feel bad in a way, but on the other hand they did have a year to find a new job. If i was working somewhere and they said they planed on clossing their doors the first thing i would do is look for a new job that day, not wait for them to fire me. Its going to be tuff to find work now with all the 800 people out of work. But if you looked a year ago when they told you they would be closing there would probably be some jobs.

This is true....but would an employer hold a job open for you while you worked for a year at your other job that is about to close?
