I bought an 95 F-150 4x4 302 V-8 about a month ago and it had a water leak, over the weekend I got the water leak fixed, I put new gas on the timing chain cover b/c thats where the leak was coming from. new water pump and gaskets and thermostat and a new oil pan gasket (not the cork type the factory rubber type). Filled all the fluids up IE Antifreeze and Oil along w/a new oil filter. Put fresh gas in it and started it up. it kinda drags while starting like the battery is weak and it's not b/c it is a fairly new battery like 2 months old. But the problem is it doesn't want to idle right, as soon as the RPM's slow down the engine dies what could be causing this????? I am putting new plugs and wires in it tomorrow to see if that might be the problem. I have not actually pulled the truck out of the shop yet to drive it around due to the fact the hood is still off and I don't want to get the motor wet yet. If any one has any ideas please give ur input..ty
well went and replaced the EGR valve and thats not it,and also replaced the spark plugs. I did notice today that if I unhook the harnes on the air breather ( the one on the left side of the air filter housing into the intake) it idles a little bit better but not much. I guess my next step will be to the mechanics, if anyone else has any ideas let me know

so i advise the iac and you change the egr.
what type of plugs?
wire order is probably incorrect from the shaking you describe.
ok here's what my problem is I took the truck to Auto Zone today and had the codes ran, it wasn't even the EGR it is the TPS Throttle Position Sensor and the MAF Mass Air Flow Sensor. Now where the He** is the TPS located at?? I have all ready priced both of them the TPS is $45.00 at Auto Zone and the MAF is $114.00 at Napa. If someone can tell me where the TPS is located I would really appreciate it. Hopefully nothing else comes up after I get that fixed
