Anyone notice the wear on the front pads. The inner pads were gone and the outer had half left at 30k miles. The calipers are like new..
I put new rotors from napa on , lifetime warr against warping. And monroe pads semi metalic.. I checked everything and all is perfect. Just was wondering whats up. I've never seen this before unless the caliper was messed up. Both side were the same. Rotors were warped..
That sure does sound like an issue with the calipers sliding on their guides. If the calipers are "floating" a they should be, you'd of course get even wear on the inboard an outboard pads.
That's my .02 - some issue with the calipers (or how they were installed!).
along this topic - is there a sticky for the ideal front brake replacement? I haven't done it yet, but have the slide grease - would like to know what should be replaced besides the pads and rotors when doing these on the early explorers, and does it screw up anything with the ABS? - thanks
