Add A Leaf question

I'm looking to boost the hauling capacity of my 2003 F150. I hope to add a leaf to my rear leaf springs. Does anyone have some advice regarding this plan? How difficult is it to accomplish?

AAL installs range from fairly easy to fairly hard, depending on if the main leaf springs need to be removed completely or not. I did AALs on my Toyota Tacoma in just over an hour, at home, but with air tools. Yours could be harder...

Have you thought about getting airbags? No harsh ride when empty with bags.

Also remember that although the add-a-leaf will help your truck physically carry more (or carry the same load better... it's been debated to death), it will not raise your trucks GVWR and you can still get ticketed if you get pulled while overloaded. That being said, I put a set on in about 45 minutes with 2 helpers and an air wrench. It rides rougher, but it's a truck, ya know?
