fuel filter housing question
When I was replacing the fuel filter in my 97 350 I noticed the housing had some gunk in it. While trying to clean it out the drain seems to have been plugged. What is the best way to clean the housing? Is the center piece easily removed?

No. It has left hand threads and its plastic so be careful. You will have to get a crow foot wrench that will fit or heat up a wrench and bend it 90* thats what I did. Think the crow foot I had wouldn't even fit in there. The standpipe feeds the fule pump so don't get anything down in there after you take it off. A can of brake cleaner should help clean things up. If the is drain plugged try to blow some air up the drain line. You might want to clear the line before you take the stand pipe off.

won't stop leaking
I opened the valve with the engine on which unplugged the drain valve, but now the valve seems open with the engine on. The truck doesn't seem to leak with power off. Any suggestions?
