I´m not someone who likes loud sounds and someone can detect from a mile of distance. Instead of, I do like to hear things with clear nice sound and no distortions. So i´m changing stock speakers for 2 pairs of Sony 6 1/2 Triaxial 400W speakers made with Isopropilene material. Do you think I´d get clear and nice sound?
What sort of head unit will you be connecting them to? Is it the stock radio, or an aftermarket unit?
If its aftermarket, can u tell us the brand and model and the wattage it states?
The head unit will make as much difference as the speakers...In any case, I would try it, cause its gonna sound better than stock for sure!!
A good head unit and speaker combo can sound really clear in a pickup..I have a Kenwood Excelon unit with an external 10 disc changer, connected to two Infinity 6.5" speakers with seperate tweeters. Sounds GREAT even without any external amp. The head unit advertises 40 watts per channel, which is mostly relative..but a stock unit will not put out much wattage, and sometimes power hungry speakers will not sound as good as you expect on a stock unit..
I know its prolly a lot more information than you really asked for, but heh, I like to be thorough...
Thanks, Well first I´ll change speakers but stock stereo will be for about couple weeks and replaced for aftermarket CD player. I´m thinking in a Keenwood KDC-417 45Wx4 (Normal Cd player) or a Boss MP3 Cd Player 50x4. Right now these are my options, but if you can give any recommendations i´d appreciatte.
Thanks again
Well, I am partial to the Kenwood units for their good features and excellent pricing. Others with more expensive systems may go Alpine or some other brand, but I have had excellent experience with Kenwood for several years running.
I have also had good experience with Denon, assuming they are still in the auto head unit business....
AIWA is less than ideal..its another matter of getting what you pay for, like so many things....
i have a jensen mp3510 HU and its a good little player, no real problems with it and it has nice features for the price of $200 althought might be found cheaper. i am also fond of pioneer HUs, but they are mostly basic if u get the cheaper versions. i have heard good reviews about the pioneer premiere series, so u might want to look in them also.
if u really want nice, clean sound i suggest an amp to complament those new speakers if u have the $$. it will be worth it to get the best sound out of them. the HU unit till put out on average 17-25W rms (constant) and 45-60W peak. so u can see if the speakers u are going to purchase are 400W u wont get the full, clear sound u would want.
just my 2 cents, hope i helped.
