My satisfaction with my 6.0

I'm new here, this is my first post. I have an 03 F250 with the 6.0l. My truck broke down recently, so this is the time for some upgrade. I just spent $2500 on parts, but you know what, I was smiling, because I love this truck, and every penny worth to put in to. No matter what people say, no matter there is no real mechanic around, I still would buy this truck, if I have to choose....

I love my 06 F-350, I only have 40,000 kms on it. Have not had any motor trouble at all. I am very meticulous with the oil changes, filters etc. Have ran the triple pup on performance since day one, with exhaust and intake. Next week she's going in for some headstuds/hypermax, and a whole lot of other goodies. September will be turbo, trans, and injectors. I am having some fun, and enjoying the truck every day....

I bought my 04 SD CC 6.0 in Oct. 04 from a Dodge Dealer. Here's the story a really stupid person IMHO, bought the truck earlier in 04, drove it 32K and traded it in on a new Dodge with a cumapart/standard tranny. Said he had always been a Dodge man and he regretted his little mistake. So his loss my gain, I gave the Dodge dealer less than a dollar a mile on the odometer. It wasn't even broke in yet........I had an Oasis ran the only thing Ford had done to it was something with the front bearings, anyway they replaced them that was all now I have 101K. The Ford dealer here in town just checked it all out got it ready for the next 100K. That is what I told them I wanted done when I took it in to them. All fluids, hoses, and belt changed. Bearings packed, brakes checked (still have sixty percent left),U-joints checked, diagnostics on engine ran. They assured me that I was good for another 100K miles with smiles.

Its really nice to see that people love their 6.0's as well. I love the sound, the power, I'll probably keep mine for many years, rebuild it, replace it, re-whatever. I just love it. I come from a small town, not too many crazy diesel truck here, and lots of people comment on my truck constantly. even the cummins and duramax diehards want and love my truck, cuz mine is the only perf diesel that hasnt blown up in my part of the country.
Anyone know the price of replacing head gaskets and installing head studs in canada though? i want more power and need to do a few things first.

When the 6.0's accomplish 500,000 miles such as my ole slow 93',then they can tell me I live in the stone ages. 2 glow plug relays and 1 set of glow plugs. Sorry but I just had to say it.

I had a 93 idi turbo, and you are right, they run forever... Only problem it takes forever to get anywhere. Yours is probably better than the one I had, but mine was very weak on power. Our 2006 6.0 has what seems to be three times the power. I have a brother who has a 2001 7.3 with a chip, and he loves it.

I don't post much because 1) I haven't had any real problems and 2) I havent had any experiences from which to gain wisdom to share (see #1)
My April 03 build 6.0 has been in for two faults since I bought it 3 years ago - a loose gear indicator and a loose turbo stack - thats it. 100% stock. Actually sits a far bit too - whichsome would suggest accelerates problems like turbo rusting. Maybe its just our "dry cold" up here

Couple of things about that. A. I don't think the 6.0s have been out in the market long enough to make it to 500k as of yet. B. With diesel as backwards as it is, I don't think you'll have many putting on the mileage on their diesels like they were so those that are racking up the miles, won't be doing so quite as much as they once were. C. Despite A. and B., your still in the stone age when it comes to what the engine can do(if properly working, but that goes for any engine) and what the truck has to offer(if you go for that type of stuff). My grandfather had an 86 f-250 diesel and that thing lasted forever, but what was previously stated, it took you forever to get anywhere(so I guess it was good that it did last forever), and it was/is still in the stone age compared to my 6.0(gave it back to my grandma and she still uses it around the farm).
