e7 heads

hi i have a set of e7 heads ive been told by different sources that they are 302 heads and 351 heads im just wondering what they are and what theyre good for ive heard porting them is ok but is that even worth the effort someone please give me a hand thanks

E7TE heads were used on both 5.0 and 5.8 motors after 1987, the only difference was the larger head bolts used on the 5.8 which required larger head bolt holes.

If you had a flow bench you can improve on the airflow of these heads quite a bit, but without one you may do more damage than good. The exhaust ports are small and restrictive, so the biggest gains are realized by removing the air injection hump, smoothing the roof and bowl area behind the valve, and opening up the port some.

Depending upon the intake used you may find the ports in the intake a smaller than the heads, so if anything open these up to match the heads.

It's not worth spending a lot of $$ on these heads, the GT40 heads are as good as a fully ported E7, and can be found for about $300 a pair at times.
