burnt injector?

going through and replacing all my o-rings and pulled this injector out and it had like a burned discoloration. heres a pic, its hard to get a good pic of it but this is best as i could do.

The cup it sits in looked like it was burned too. both kinda a burned/rustish.

Looks like the copper gasket blew.
Check to see if it was installed upside down (gasket).
Could also happen if the inj was not torque down to spec.

I use a cone shaped brass wire brush with some brake clean.
Its just carbon on the sleeve, get it as clean as you can so the gasket can seal.
