This morning I hit the remote start, and jumped in her 5 min. later like I do every morning. I made it about 3 miles where's she's warm enough for me to switch the DP Tuner from stock to 60 tow. I made the switch, and it immediately started running rough, like I had air or water in the fuel. I pulled over, plugged in my Preadator to find the codes and it came up with a few, IIRC they were for IDM, EBP, and one or two other related to having a tuner. However I've never seen one for the IDM.
So I figure since I'm close to home I'll limp back and fix her there. I pull in a parking lot to empty my stock fuel filter and check my Vormax under the cab. As I pull it, the SES light goes off, and it starts to run ok again. I figure what the hell, so I put it back in 60T, and it runs like crap again. I think this is more fuel related but I'm not sure. So I pull fuel from both points and they both smelled and looked ok. I fueled up two days ago, so I don't know why if it's a fuel problem (water?) would it take so long to show up, with no WIF light? I purged my cackle-cure line, and no difference there either. I'm stumped.... And trying to get to work....
thanks Rick, someone will chime in soon, hopefully.... I'm actually pulling fuel samples right now to check for water (I tend to get crappy fuel for what I pay for it) and I think I'm gonna dump my big filter and pour fresh #2 in it to see if that does anything.
may be unrelated but yesterday I went to change tunes and in stock the engine would stumble,a little while later it would do the same in 40T or stock if I touched the DP switch
I pushed the plug in tighter and so far has not done it again
It's not the VC harness on the outside, I guess it could be on the inside, but my damn Predator isn't showing any bad cyl. contributions. I might actually have to take it to the dealer
I'm gonna get some fresh #2. Hopefully one of ya'll has the answer when I come back hehe.....

It is on the inside, usually.
Is there any International truck dealers in your area? They might be willing to look at your truck and they would know that T444E engine under your hood a lot more.
No Dan, there's no IH dealers in my area so I'm stuck with the stealership....
I don't know if it's even worth it changing the fuel in my filter, as what I pulled outta my filter bowl looked ok, a little water, but not enough to really even get sucked into the lines.
Danny, what happens if you don't switch it over to the DP and just leave it stock? A problem with the DP could cause all sorts of codes you can't track down. Maybe check the wiring to your switch and make sure you don't have a loose or chaffed wire somewhere.
If the problem happens every time you put it in 60T, the simple answer is don't put it in 60T to see if you can eliminate that as a possibility.
Chris, I think it's am engine problem, not the tuner cause it runs like crap in any setting. I believe the sudden increased demand for fuel when I went from modified stock to 60 caused the reaction. I'm gonna dump my big fuel filter and see how that looks.....
Dan, I think you're right on this one- I just changed about 1 qt of fuel in my pre-filter, and drained the stock filter bowl and refilled it via the fuel pump. Still runs rough, however it's kinda intermittant. It'll run smooth for a few seconds, and then run like crap again, mostly missing, which id definitely indicative of UVC harness. My stupid Predator isn't showing codes, so off to the dealership it is. Hopefully they can find it, and I can bend over as I pay for parts, 'cause I sure the hell ain't gonna pay for them to fix it.
