Couple random questions

First off -- i've got an 02 F350 super crew w/ 7.3

The rear part of the overhead console is broked (was broken when i got the truck) i assume its for a garage door opener or something along those lines.

Can I buy the little flap part that opens by its self or is it sold as a single item??

#2
I'm looking for an exhaust for the truck, what size/brand should I be looking at? -- I'm all about performance, but i also would like for it to be obnoxiously loud (outside the truck)

#3
Intake, what brand/setup should I look into? -- noise doesn't bother me..

#4
BOV... I've seen quite a bit of talk about surging, and knowing how bad this is for gassers, its got to have the same effect on a diesel (bad for turbo) - are there any cost effective BOVs for these trucks? A quick google search yielded one BOV that was around $800.. seems a bit excessive to me?

I see an insane amount of abbreviations used on the forum and have absolutely no idea what 95% of them mean. Is there a comprehensive list of common abbreviations used in this forum? (if not, maybe someone should start a thread)

Welcome to FTE! A lot of your questions can be answered here: Powerstroke Help Network

Just look under the mods page.
The best intake is the 6637.
Others will chime in with a ton of info for you!!

Welcome to FTE.

1. This is what I run, the 409 SS. click me Go 4 or 5", but you don't need 5" unless you plan on over 500 hp.

2. Like Jim said. 6637. Here is a pic of mine with Pete's filter cover.

4. If you get surge with a chip, either get the WW or ATS housing.

5. There is a write up on this, but will take me a few to find it.

Good luck.

Welcome to FTE

2. 4" exhaust MBRP is pretty nice, I have 4" Aluminized from Summit Racing

3. 6637 is the most cost effective and works well I here, I have AFE Stage II with the pg7 filter.

4. BOV?

5. We are insane about the abbreviations.

Mods and maintenance in the above post is a good place to start.

These diesels don't use a throttle plate, and therefore don't have a Blow Off Valve (BOV).

Pop

the one that i saw released pressure based on TPS sensor input (would release for 3-5sec then close back up) long enough to relieve the pressure and not grenade a turbo

maybe the one I came across is the only one on the market?

I've never heard of a BOV on a PSD. Trust me, these things don't need one- you'll blow off a IC tube before anything else.

Ha, shut up Jet! Quit rubbing it in... Two turbos on the new engine? you didnt have compounds on that 7.3, a 42r right?

The engine continues to spin over and over when you let out of the throttle, so most of the air goes into the engine as normal, just no fuel to ignite with it.
