Transmission or T-case
A buddy of mine has a 88 Bronco II with the Automatic with overdrive and the other day he was leaving his house and it just quit pulling, when you put it in any gear it sounds like a gear or shaft is stripped , also it will not hold itself in park. The T-case seems to shift thru 2hi to 4low fine, the problem is in all ranges. Just wondering if there was any common problems like this and if it might be the tranny or the T-case. I was thinking maybe a striped tranny out put or T-case input shaft any thoughts?

Try and see if it works in 4 Low to hold (or drive) the vehicle with both front hubs locked. If that works, then the most likely thing is the rear end is damaged or blown, most likely a drive shaft is stripped or broken. If your friend is lucky, it broke at the outside of the housing.

No worky in 4 low either, it is definitely internal of one of the two just not sure which, I finally got my other friends mini van off my lift tonight, so I'm hopping to get the Bronco on it tomorrow and at least do a little more investigation. I'll post up what I find.
