Hay,
I have a 1998 F250 Light Duty 4x4 extend cab short box.
This year has 7-lug wheels. Why? No one seems to know exactly why..
I would like to put a set of nice wheels on this truck, American Racing to be exact. They and many other manufactures do not make 7-lug wheels.. Does anyone know if the hubs can be changed to either 6 or 8 lugs? If so, any idea how hard or $$$ it might be? There are a huge number of wheel choices available in both these sizes for this truck.
Regards and thanks,
Wlcome to FTE.
One person asked this before. He said when he took off his hubcovers it was actually an 8 lug vehicle. But I have heard ford was making 7 lug trucks though.
Yes this is correct... the 7 lug config on a pickup is part of the 7700# payload group, or the F250LD... This year, they have changed the labelling, so it is now an F150 7700..
