Hi all,
1999 f350 7.3 I'm trying to upgrade for some heavier towing. My rig did come with the tow package, but I don't know how reliable it is.
I have all the gauges and a fuel pressure gauge coming next week, I have an Edge Evo as well. yeah yeah I know but I bought it before I got educated on this site. LOL
I was wondering what you all thought about this valve body
FACTORY TECH TRANSMISSIONS - Ford E4od E40d 4r100 5r110w 4r70w 4r75e 4r75w Transmission Upgrades it's reasonable at $225 I know you all like B&M John Woods etc. but I don't have that kind of money for this and it should be a lot better than the stock valve body.
Also how about this deep trans pan, it holds an additional 3 qts of oil.
bulkparts.com part no. 14108 it's $85 of course I'd need a deep sump filter, but no big deal.

So if I go this route and rebuild my own tranny with the addition of the VB. is that all I would need to do for up-gradeing my tranny. I will not be doing the work. will have to pay some one to.
mine leaks now, randomly so I know I am on borrowed time (181k). good think I dont tow very often and or heavy loads, but I know when it goes it will be at the worst time possible.

I would get the BTS Valve body. It is an excellent value. I don't trust Factory Tech since they farmed out the Monster Box trans to Jasper. Who knows who or what is making their VBs.
Forget the pan. BTS warranties my trans for whatever I do and pretty much for as long as I own the truck. Do you think he would recommend a deep pan if he thought it would help reduce his warranty costs?

The extra capacity is a good thing, but when it gets hot, it takes longer for it to cool down. The added capacity cuts both ways.
