Hey Guys,
I currently have a little gravity feed sandblaster for cleaning up parts. i've been thinking about upgrading to a pressurized sandblaster. Aany one own one and think the differance in cost is worth it.
It appears i can get a pressurized sandblaster for around $200.00 as opposed to my little $40.00 unit i currently have. Ideas /commets?
The cheaper pressurised models on Ebay are more than adequate. Mine works like a dream and was well worth the money. Once you have worn out the supplied ceramic tip, make sure you repace it with a tungsten carbide tip
Depends on what you intend to use it for, have a neighbor with setup as yours and it seems to work for his needs, occasionally sand blast car parts for painting, also uses an all purpose sand which is vary hazardous. That being said, purchased a pressure blaster off ebay for about same cost, and also media with the equipment, believed called 'black beauty' or name simular, found it too coarse and almost sent the equipment back. Went to a fine glass bead, and or, alum. oxide and works much smoother. Cost of shipping media can be expensive, luckily found a media supplier in the area and save alot. Pressure blaster is messy, make sure not to **** off neighbors, and wear protective gear, dispite my efforts still found the media is capable of getting into every oriface imaginable to the human body. Occasionally, HP has a sale on the nozzle so I pick up couple to keep on hand. The pressure blaster has a media regulating valve at the base, and pressure valve near the regulator, once you find the correct setting for both the equipment works smoother. Tend to set the media at around half way and pressure reg. full open, but also have a small shop compressor. Occasionally nozzle jambs so I keep small gage wire on hand to insert in nozzle oriface. Later purchased the HF cabinet sand blaster, doors on both sides, and set it up where I can also use the cabinet with the pressure blaster, O'yea. Anyhow, not sure if answered your question but thought would add my $.02.
