I found a 66 CC 4x4 for sale localy for 4k. it has a 352 with a 4 speed and a D21 T-case. The chassis is all stock other than a 3" lift. The body is a 6.8 out of a 10, but has the usual rust in the mounts and core support. The floors are shot all across. Is it worth 4 and how can I tell for sure that it is a factory 4x4 and a CC. It has a regular style side bed, not a box style bed.

One of the pics (I took it) shows a beautifully restored tutone blue/white 1966 F100 4WD.
What you see is what it looked like brand new.
And, yes the wheel covers are correct, they were an option on F100 4WD's, standard equipment on Bronco's (1966 thru 1977), and are the same as 1966 Galaxies used.
If the truck you are looking at is an F100 4WD, the VIN will start out F11, if an F250 4WD, the first three digits of the VIN will be F26.
I see similar things out here too...not near as much as in years past though...but I, like you Bill have an inate sense of spotting these trucks off in the weeds or on the road going the other way...it always makes me happy to see one zipping down the freeway
wanna make a return trip ??? Lets go now...what the hell else do we have to do?

When hunting these old rolling piles of misery, one develops a third eye for spotting them out behind the woodshed, in the weeds, behind gas stations, you name it.
The only problem when hunting old cars, is the roofs of VW Beetles have the same roof curvature that the 1930's/40's cars do.
I must gone back and looked at 500 of those damn V dubs, thinking they were something else.
Find in NC: A 1966 F600 Dump Truck rusting alongside a back road = it was a Custom Cab!
