hey folks i have yet another question,i just recently bought a 1985 f-150 with the 300-6 and i have some rims that i wanted to put on it,they are the grey spoke rallys that ford had from the mid eighties to the early nineties..well the problem is i started backing out of the driveway and heard a grinding noise,so i looked underneath and the bottom bolt on the break calipers is grinding against the wheel, wyhat is the difference with f-150 6 cyl spindles compared to the f-150 8cyl spindles?
thats what i dont understand these are factory wheels,i dont see why the offset would be wrong, ive had these rims on 4 fords this body style including a bronco, they worked great ,i just dont know what the deal is with this pickup...i do know the calipers are totally different on the v-8 trucks
are you sure the crappy pins that hold your caliper have not come out or broken? had that on my f250.. the caliper was pivotting out and rubbing the rim. new pins. problem solved.
