Decisions, Decisions...What shall I do?

Well...I'm 16, time buy a car, a truck, or both...

I have the opportunity to get an 89 Pontiac grand-am off of my brother, good engine, saftied, drives well. He will let it go to me for $200. The downside is that it has some rust on the lower door skins and rear quarters, and some of the clear coat is peeling off. If I buy my brothers old car, I will also be able to pick up a 76 Ford F-250 highboy, that runs and drives. I will be building this truck for mud racing.

Either that or...

I buy a mid 80's, early 90's ford F-150 4x4 Pickup truck off of a used car lot or where ever I can find a decent one for a good price.

What would you do, I'm looking for advice/opinions.

Thanks

Get the car that runs for $200 bucks. Cheap is cheap all around, and you're only 16 so you've got time.

Just buy and resale and/or trade, making a little profit as you go and moving up to newer vehicles. I started out with a 80 bronco that I got when I was 13 or 14, and now I have a 04 f150 at 17.
