radio interference after upgrades?
lightening audio S.5 700 amp (5 channel)
Polk DX7 rear speakers
Polk 2560 component front speakers
Polk 10" subwoofer
factory 6 disc head unit
And I have some 'interference' with the engine running. I have the "normal" hissing sound, but also a weird sound that is a ticking, almost like a turn signal (tick-tick....tick-tick....) that comes through all of the speakers, again only when the engine is running. The amp is mounted on the rear wall of the cab (crewcab), and the speakers are in the stock locations. The power feed for the amp comes straight from the stock battery, through a 30 amp inline fuse (mounted 3" from battery), with the power cable running inside the cab, down the right doorjamb area. The amp ground is at the right rear seatbelt mount (so a body ground, not frame ground) . All the speaker wires run down the center of the cab, (both speaker level input from the control head to the amp, and speaker outputs from the amp), so they are at least 1.5-2.0 feet from the power cable. I have not tried a 'filter' yet, but I though I would ask the experts here first, to get some ideas.
